Certaines postures aident au renforcement musculaire en douceur, d&rsquo;autres font plut\u00f4t travailler l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre.<\/p><p>Avec une pratique r\u00e9guli\u00e8re on peut corriger des erreurs de posture d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es tout au long de notre vie ce qui att\u00e9nue grandement les probl\u00e8mes de dos chroniques. Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du temple en 2008 \u00e0 montr\u00e9 que la pratique du yoga Iyengar am\u00e9liore l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre chez les femmes de plus de 65 ans.<\/p><p>Le yoga participe \u00e0 la r\u00e9duction du stress. Pendant la s\u00e9ance l&rsquo;attention est enti\u00e8rement dirig\u00e9e sur le corps et la respiration, on est dans \u00ab\u00a0l&rsquo;ici et maintenant\u00a0\u00bb, ce qui est une forme de m\u00e9ditation.Une \u00e9tude de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Boston publi\u00e9e en 2010 a montr\u00e9 que le yoga \u00e9tait efficace pour soulager l&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p><p>Sur le tapis on est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre le temps d&rsquo;\u00e9couter le corps, l&rsquo;attention est constamment ramen\u00e9e vers le souffle, on d\u00e9veloppe sa capacit\u00e9 de concentration. Pour les yogas dynamiques, on \u00e9chauffe en d\u00e9but de cours la totalit\u00e9 du corps en mettant l&rsquo;accent sur le groupe musculaire que le professeur a choisi de travailler plus particuli\u00e8rement.<\/p><p>Une fois \u00e9chauff\u00e9, on avance dans l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 de la pratique avec l&rsquo;encha\u00eenement de postures debout et de postures d&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre. La derni\u00e8re partie du cours vise \u00e0 ralentir le rythme cardiaque pour qu&rsquo;il revienne \u00e0 la normale, on privil\u00e9gie alors les \u00e9tirements dans des postures assises et allong\u00e9es. On cl\u00f4ture la s\u00e9ance avec la posture du mort ou \u00ab\u00a0shavasana\u00a0\u00bb qui consiste \u00e0 s&rsquo;allonger sur le dos et \u00e0 rel\u00e2cher tous les muscles du
